Prime Development Opportunity

Introducing the Halifax Streetcar District, 2.87 acres of development land for sale.

HALIFAX, June 8, 2020 – Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic is pleased to announce that they have been retained by the HRM to conduct the disposition of a 2.87 acres site formerly known as Bloomfield School. Managing Director, Bill MacAvoy and Vice President, Steven Dexter have been appointed the role of disposing of this large urban development site fronted by Agricola, Almon and Robie Street.

Head down Agricola or Robie and Almon Street, and you’ll arrive at the Streetcar District. Centred in Halifax’s vibrant North End, the Streetcar District is a four block nexus ready to be brought to life. This will occur by the development community and occupiers, both residential and commercial.

A prime development opportunity, the Streetcar District is where all points intersect and lead to Halifax’s Regional Center and communities. The lot size is 2.87 acres with an allowable building size up to 498,961 sf plus underground parking. The site lends itself to many possible configurations, however, the most likely option is a 3 building configuration.

Development on the site must include public benefits such as open space, affordable housing, community and creative space.

“We are honoured to be working with the HRM on this important disposition of a historical piece of property in Halifax’s North End”, stated Bill MacAvoy. “There are fewer and fewer large block sites remaining on the Halifax peninsula, so this site offers an excellent opportunity with long-term value”, continues MacAvoy.

The Streetcar District is offered for sale via an unpriced bid process. Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic will be accepting bids until no later than July 6, 2020. All prospective purchasers are encouraged to contact the listing agents for additional information.

The property is surrounded by amenities, and located on major bus routes, which continues to attract residents to work, shop and live in the area. Full details on the property can be found at halifaxstreetcar.com.
