Proud Sponsors of the Canadian Progress Club Halifax Sports Celebrity Dinner

Canadian Progress Club Sports Celebrity Dinner

Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Canadian Progress Club Halifax Sports Celebrity Dinner.

Carrying on a 42 year tradition, the Sports Celebrity Dinner is held in Halifax each February.  In 1972, the inaugural event was planned as a way to raise funds in support of the King’s Meadow Home for mentally challenged adults in Windsor, N.S.  Over the years, the Dinner has attracted approximately 300 world class speakers from all genres of professional and amateur sport to assist with the generous fundraising efforts of the Canadian Progress Club – Halifax.  Names such as Bobby Orr, Julius Irving, Carl Yastrzemski, Gordie Howe, Ken Dryden, Mark Messier, Jim Kelly, Jesse Owens, Joe Frazier and Catriona LeMay Doan have all visited our province and entertained our patrons.  To compliment a night of laughter, locker room tales and life lessons with the sporting world’s elite, the evening also includes an exciting sports trivia contest, raffle draw and live auction.  The event continues to flourish and has now grown into one of the single largest fundraising events in Atlantic Canada with over thirteen hundred guests, national press coverage and tremendous local business support.  Over the last number of years, the net proceeds from the event have averaged over $100,000 annually.

On February 19th, 2015, the Canadian Progress Club – Halifax will host our 43rd Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner at the Cunard Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  On this night we will continue the tradition of providing our patrons with an evening of entertainment unlike any other.  Join us in February for another unforgettable evening with the sporting world’s elite!
