About James
With a decade at Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic, James specializes in the industrial and suburban office markets, representing tenants and property owners across Nova Scotia. Known for his direct, no-nonsense approach, he helps businesses secure the best possible terms whether negotiating lease renewals, relocations, or property sales.
His experience spans over 400 deals, and $300M of total transaction value.
Born and raised in Wales, James earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism before founding and growing a successful public relations firm. His background in communications and negotiation naturally led him to commercial real estate, where he applies the same strategic mindset to advocacy and deal-making.
Beyond real estate, James is a licensed pilot and an active volunteer firefighter with Station 8 in Bedford.
James serves on the Board of Directors for Easter Seals Nova Scotia, sits on the NSREC Commercial Committee, and is the current elected President of the Bedford Volunteer Firefighters’ Association. He previously served as a Director of the Greater Burnside Business Association, reinforcing his deep connection to Halifax’s business community.
James is also the co-creator and co-host of Matter of Fax, a popular local podcast that highlights Halifax’s movers and shakers, as well as some of the city’s more unconventional news stories.
