Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic Named Graduate Champion

Commercial Real Estate Firm introduces international students to Canadian Workplace; hires recent graduates for permanent positions.

Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic has been named as a Graduate Champion under the Growth Champion program at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. The point of this initiative is to celebrate the success of businesses supporting growth in our community. The locally owned commercial real estate firm is owned by Bill MacAvoy, one of the founding members of Yes NS (Youth Entrepreneurship & Skills Nova Scotia), who is a member of the NS Department of Education Business-Education Council. Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic hosts students in their office for career discovery days, and has hosted international students as part of Dalhousie University’s Work Experience Program, in order to introduce international students to the Canadian workplace, which helps in securing co-op terms and full time employment after graduation.

Further to this recognition, Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic is pleased to announce the recent permanent hires of two recent graduates its Halifax office. “The recent additions serve to further the global company’s strategic pillar of having the Best Talent, by adding well educated, ambitious, community minded professionals to the local team. Bill MacAvoy, Managing Director, continues, “Following the global merger of Cushman & Wakefield and DTZ, it is an exciting time to be at our firm. Our NS, NB, PE, and NL clients all benefit as we add new, bright minds to our teams.”

Marc Cheverie, M.Sc: Marc joins Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic after completing a professional hockey career across the USA and Europe. He is a recent graduate of University of Dundee with an M.Sc in Management & International Business, following a BS/BA in Finance from the University of Denver. Marc began his career as Research & Sales Coordinator, allowing him to acquire both more in-depth knowledge of the technical and financial aspects of the industry, as well as the client service process. He brings with him a competitive nature combined with enthusiasm to service Commercial Real Estate occupiers. A Cole Harbour native, Marc has extensive regional knowledge and a wealth of professional contacts. Focusing on Occupier Services, Marc will help tenants identify and align strategic business, financial, and operational objectives with real estate requirements. Whether providing clients with acquisition, renewal, relocation, or consolidation services, C&W’s Tenant Representation services are distinguished by our in-depth knowledge of global markets, combined with strategic problem-solving abilities. Marc also serves as an Ambassador for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.

Meaghan MacDougall: Meaghan joins Cushman & Wakefield Atlantic to increase its robust research and surveying practices as Research & Sales Coordinator. Meaghan joins C&WA after graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, where she completed a major in Management and minor in Marketing. From being a volleyball player both at the university level and the national level, Meaghan has grown in multiple team environments and has gained a great competitive fire. These aspects help provide Meaghan with building blocks to be successful in her role as a Research & Sales Coordinator.
