Joanne joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2010 as a research analyst and sales assistant for the Newfoundland and Labrador region.
Joanne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Acadia University. Her work experience includes commercial underwriting, broadcast and video, as well as residential real estate in Toronto, Ontario. An enthusiastic traveller, she received her TESL certificate and taught English in South Korea.
Following her return to Canada, she settled in Vancouver where she spent over a decade with Elsco Construction, a concrete repair contractor wherein she honed her knowledge of project management construction techniques, materials and processes , as well as contract negotiation, document control , and workplace health and safety issues. She served as project manager for the development of an eight unit townhouse development which received an Heritage award from the City of Vancouver.
Her return to Newfoundland was also her return to full time student status and her completion of a Diploma of Applied Arts specializing in Legal Studies/Paralegal from Academy Canada. This comprehensive program allowed her to further her interest in contract drafting, interpretation and enforcement. She has made representations before tribunals, and the courts in Newfoundland and Labrador.
She is detail oriented, and an expediter by nature. She enjoys the challenges presented by the dynamic market that is Newfoundland and Labrador.
